The Myth The Battle of Gettysburg
Happened by Accident Remains the Majority View

In his 2013 book, Gettysburg: The Last Invasion, Prof. Guelzo weaves his narrative with the usual historian’s reliance on the words of other writers, living and dead; instead of constructing it purely on the objective facts─what a percipient witness saw, heard, did. Measure what the witness says happened, professor, by what the evidence shows he did.

At least this professor, probably because he is attuned to current analysis, is getting his act on the right page. But he does not actually say in his book that the battle did not happen by accident. He has his toe in the water, but still unwilling to plunge.
